The ig Brown Truck arrived right on time !

Post by DaveT »

The big brown truck left a package at my gun store for me, it was waiting when I got back into town this afternoon:

Image

At the top left is a 4 inch Kimber stainless TLE/RL II. One of only a couple of models Kimber produces in the 4 inch size with a bottom mounted rail for a tactical light to be attached. Standard with glow in the dark night sights.

At the bottom right is a 4 inch Kimber Compact CDP II. Produced in the Custom Shop, the CDP model features all the bells and whistles, included a 'melded' treatment so there are no rough edges to snag on clothing when carrying or unholstering.While most of the 4 inch CDP models are in the 'PRO' family with full size grips, the hard to find Compact model shown here features the shorter grips found on the 3 inch Ultra series.

The picture below shows the difference in the grip, that results in better concealability.

Excellent choice! :clapping:

If you dont mind me asking, What store did you order these through? How long did it take to recieve them after you ordered?

The reason I ask, I ordered a new Custom TLE II back on 3-15, and I was wondering how long the wait time from Kimber might be.
Guns are like parachutes, if your ever in a situation that you need one and you dont have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I bought both of these and my 2 stainless Raptors off GunBroker.com, and all from the same dealer: Osage County Guns in Belle, Mo. Here's one of the links to what I just received from them:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... 244280#PIC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you click on the link to the seller's other guns for sale, they always have about 10 pages of guns listed.... and a fair number of Kimbers, even one of the 2010 models just released - the Ultra TLE.

I clicked on the 'buy it now' options last Thursday night. Sent them a bank cashier's check on Friday, they received it on Monday and shipped the guns the same day, I had them yesterday - Tuesday.

Their prices are right at Kimber's suggested MSRP. On easier to find Kimber models, I might look for a cheaper price. On the ones I have purchased from them that are hot demand and hard to find, I don't mind paying MSRP because that's cheaper than some of the local gun shops jacking up the prices.

If you are enduring a wait time in order to get a gun from Kimber to a dealer, it could be 3-4 months. It all depends on production schedules and how your dealer's order falls into that schedule.
