Carry 2 pistols as an EDC setup sensible?

Post by webb3201 »

The pistol that has become my primary EDC pistol is my Kahr PM9. As part of that rig, I carry a spare magazine on my belt. I had the opportunity to pick up a second PM9 that was too good to pass, and am now wondering about carrying a pair. The obvious positive is that I could have one easily accessible to either hand. These pistols are so small that the total carry bulk of 2 is comparable to my G19.
Would I carry two pistols and an additional magazine?
Would I treat the offhand as a BUG and never draw it unless the first failed (or I could not access it)?
Would I learn to draw the second in a""New York reload" rather than going for the second mag?
Looking for thoughts on this one.

Sure, carry both, both with chambered cartridges
and fully charged mags.

With 2 identical guns you'll be as symmetrical as a
454 cubic inch Chevelle Super Sport with dual exhausts!

Your hometown is not listed, but keep in mind that
if you travel into New Mexico, you'll have CHL reciprocity,
but you are allowed only ONE gun on you in NM.

I have been debating the dual SOB 1911 holster I saw in Face/Off. Sweet rig. put 2 hicap 1911s and you got 28 rds of JHP .45.

Go for it. I think if I had two small and lightweight guns that were identical I would too. I would carry an extra mag just because that is me but I don't think a person would have to as long as you can pull with your weak hand and operate the gun properly and accurately.

If it works for you that's what matters. Unfortunately, with OC I can't do the Lara Croft thing.

Actually, you can only conceal one gun. You can carry as many as you want. You could conceal one and OC the other in NM and still be within the law.

You could carry one strong side and one as ankle carry.
