The American Fighting Man's Match (Veterans' Day)

Post by Chris »

i think my grandfather and i are going to hit this at fort wolters. how accurate do you guys think a field grade M1 garand will be at 300/500/600 yards? i've never benched it, but i can put a whole clip into a 6" circle at 100 yards standing. would this be acceptable enough to get me good benched accuracy out to 600 yards?

my grandfather will probably shoot my garand, and i'll take my 03A3.

I don't know how you will fare in the match but a 6" group standing at 100 yards with a M1 impresses me. I used to hit silhouettes with one consistantly at 350 yards during basic training, but I don't remember the size of the silhouettes. Summer of 1962 was a long time ago!
