WTB - cheap AK47
Looking for a cheap AK47. Don't care about the furniture color/condition as I'll be switching it all out. Obviously, i can get a sub $400 AK from Aim, JG, or Atlantic but wanted to check here first.
Re: WTB - cheap AK47
I am looking at ordering up one from AIM this, they have that Romi WASR for 379.00 and I have heard pretty decent things about them, but if someone here has something comparable for sale let me know also!

Re: WTB - cheap AK47
thanks for sending. i just found these guys last night and prices seem to be lower than anyone else out there. their site and ordering process is not so great, but i may have to give them a shot. you have to get them the FFL info before you can place your order.speepdaedeesi wrote:try http://www.classicarms.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

on a side note, am i reading this wrong or does the "shooters package" include free shipping? if so, that's quite a deal. 2 additional mags, bulldog case, AND free shipping?

Center Fire Systems has a good price on a AK74 ($350ish shipped). I have to keep talking myself out of ordering one.
Re: WTB - cheap AK47
man, tell me about it. I've been eyeballing that for a while now. And the 1080 spam cans of 5.45 ammo for $129 +/-...cajunautoxer wrote:Center Fire Systems has a good price on a AK74 ($350ish shipped). I have to keep talking myself out of ordering one.
I'm sure I'll cave at some point.

Re: WTB - cheap AK47
i couldn't find the $350 one but did see one for $369 shipped. i have considered a AK74 but i worry about the ammo supply. isn't it all foreign surplus? so if that runs out, will any US manufacturers produce the round? i suppose i could buy several thousand rounds to last me (cheaper than AK47) but what about 10 years from now? everything i read is that most using the AK74 are gng back to the AK47. so what does that imply?pbwalker wrote:man, tell me about it. sorry, just asking because i'd love to go with AK74, just have a few concerns.

I honestly don't know, but I do see new production 5.45 @ Academy (Monarch I believe).jeeperbryan wrote:i couldn't find the $350 one but did see one for $369 shipped. i have considered a AK74 but i worry about the ammo supply. isn't it all foreign surplus? so if that runs out, will any US manufacturers produce the round? i suppose i could buy several thousand rounds to last me (cheaper than AK47) but what about 10 years from now? everything i read is that most using the AK74 are gng back to the AK47. so what does that imply?pbwalker wrote:man, tell me about it. I've got a AK47 now but am looking to pick up the 74 for fun/plinking/truck gun. $369 + $129 for 1080 rounds...cheap fun!

Re: WTB - cheap AK47
yeah, i've seen it at Academy. it all comes from Russia so hard to tell if Monarch would be available in the future.pbwalker wrote:I honestly don't know, but I do see new production 5.45 @ Academy (Monarch I believe).jeeperbryan wrote:i couldn't find the $350 one but did see one for $369 shipped. i have considered a AK74 but i worry about the ammo supply. isn't it all foreign surplus? so if that runs out, will any US manufacturers produce the round? i suppose i could buy several thousand rounds to last me (cheaper than AK47) but what about 10 years from now? everything i read is that most using the AK74 are gng back to the AK47. so what does that imply?pbwalker wrote:man, tell me about it. SO here's my thinking now....i could get a AK74 and a few thousand rounds of ammo stocked. then i'd only shoot what i bought at Academy or locally for cheaper than i could shoot an AK47. if 5.45 ever becomes scarce, then i could sell my stock of 5.45 for a premium and throw in an AK74. if an AWB ever comes to fruition, then i could sell both the ammo AND AK74 for a premium.

Like I said $350ish. I don't know why they would quit using the 5.45 round. It has its place in this world. I havn't read anything about the "Euro" countries no longer relying on the 5.45

This is the way I see it. I'm hoping soon to start going to one or two carbine classes a yr. That's usually around 1k rnds a class. I already have 4 cans of 5.45. I got them off a GB for $99. So that's 4320 rnds for less than $480. Now if I were to order .223 it would cost me $800. That right there is either the cost of the AK47 or a 5.45 S&W upper. I'll also start buying a case or two when I see a good deal on them. The ammo will last my life time
Now in a truly a problem arises situation I'm grabbing my AK
