WTS Gov. size 1911 Snakewood Grips

Post by 7075-T7 »

I'm looking to sell the set of grips that I had on my pistol in the below picture. They're 100% snakewood gov size grips finished in satin poly, but there's one catch. The port (left) side grip during target practice fractured between the screw holes. It was a clean break so I'm sure someone with a better working knowledge of wood would be able to fix. (I didn't want to try and fix them and mess them up.)

For those who dont' know, Snakewood is one of the rarest woods in the world, from surname, and the gov. strictly controls the harvest. The pattern in the wood is all the way through the wood and you're very unlinely to see anything else like it. It's extremely hard, which makes it more brittle than other woods.

I don't recommend them for target practice (Double Tap 185 Noslers....) but for a BBQ gun they would be perfect!!

I paid $100 for them and used them twice, but with the damage I'm asking $60 [40 for the good panel and 20 for the bad] (just trying to re-coup some cost so the wife stops giving me the evil eye). I can send pictures of the grips as they are now to anyone interested. Please help a fellow CHL out :cheers2: :txflag:
