Large Dog Boots to Good Home

Post by mikeintexas »

If you look at the avatar I finally got posted, you will see what I love to hunt.

If you have hunted quail in west Texas, you know how hard the grass burrs and cactus spines are on your dog's feet. Dog boots are necessary to keep the dog hunting instead of pulling burrs out of their feet.

I bought a pair of "large" dog boots made of heavy nylon on the boot part and neoprene with velcro and a buckle upper. As it turns out, "Sugar" has small feet. If someone can use them, let me know. I don't want to ship them as I already have $50.00 wrapped up in them. But I'll give them to someone that will put them to good use. I'm in the DFW area if someone local is interested. I'd say they should work on a Lab or similar dog.

Send me a PM.

My lab and I don't hunt, but she gets burned on hot pavement when we go to Home Depot and such. The problem is she refuses to walk wearing boots, she just lies down and chews at them.

Good luck with giving those away.

I initially thought you were giving away your dog named "Boots."

The true story is not so sad. :-)

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. When I first put Sugar's boots on, she doesn't know what to do. She kinda stands there raising one foot at a time and looking pitiful. But when I get the shotgun out, it's time for business. The first few minutes she has to get used to stopping and sliding, but that doesn't last long.
