AMC Theatres respond to complaints about CHL restrictions

Post by kahrfreak »

Might be worth your time to add your comments/insights: http://getsatisfaction.com/amc_theatres ... ed_against" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I doubt it will change AMC's braindead stance, but it does appear that someone at AMC is listening.

Nice article and mostly good comments, it shows what CHL's are up against to some of the GP, hate and prejudice.

I would like to see them put in metal detectors and screen everyone, if that's their stance.
Maybe they could also put up a sign, "We are gang banger friendly". Since, bangers will carry regardless.

I wish that people would stop making a stink about it there. The signs they have posted are clearly not valid, are to small and are not at the entrances. If you buy at one of the Kiosks, you never even pass or see the sign. If too many people make a stink, they might just find out that they are not in compliance with the law and post legal signs.

Yup. Exactly. I go to an AMC and have yet to see any signs.

Those kiosks are rally fast.

I believe AMC's lawyers know exactly what the law is and are quite aware they are not compliant. Lawyers may not get respect (present company excluded) but they generally are not stupid. They are likely traipsing the line between appeasing both crowds. Sure as you disarm then get mugged, they will say "but as a CHL holder you should know our signs are not binding upon you and you disarmed on your own".

Not so surprisingly to me, I didn't see a single comment on the AMC site complaining that their signs aren't legal. I think CHLs should be given some credit for having a clue about these things!

The sign at my AMC Theater is invalid. I ignore it. I certainly don't point it out to anybody.
