I am new to competition shooting and I need a decent holster that does not cost $50-100 for it.
I am not looking for anything fancy, just something that will work and last.
I own a Glock G19.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but anything you that safely covers your trigger guard and that you can draw decently will work. Something like an Uncle Mike's Kydex holster will run you about $20.
Remember, it's VERY rare that the holster will make a "first order of magnitude" difference. Shot placement and reload drills is what matters.
Personally, I use a Blackhawk Level 3 Serpa Locked holster, which most people would tell you is probably the WORST choice for competition shooting. Not once have I thought I needed to change holsters in order to improve my scoring.

I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

I shoot a Glock 19 in IDPA and use a Don Hume JIT belt slide holster that I picked up for about $20. It's worked ok so far, but I'd like to get kydex paddle holster in the near future. My only complaint is that the Don Hume holds on to the gun a little too tightly. It pulls my pants and belt up slightly before the gun starts to come out of the holster. That's even with a good gun belt. I don't think it's affecting my time at this point, but I do find it annoying.
Many of the folks in my IDPA club swear by the Comp-Tac paddle holsters and that's what I'll probably end up getting at some point, but they're on the higher end at $57.50. On the cheaper side, Fobus makes a paddle holster that many people like which can be had for around $25-$30. Just don't get the one that has the adjustable cant.
