Glock vs. 1911 - Good vs. Evil - Jedi vs. Sith

I thought all of the guns in Star Wars were future Glocks. All other manufactuers were left in the past Centuries. Glocks are "The Force" .

Don't you remember Obi-Wan explaining to Luke on Tatooine that each Jedi makes his own lightsaber? Luke used his father's old one until he lost it fighting his father and losing it and his hand.

So why wouldn't they custom make their sidearms as well?
