It's fortunate that the boy was smart enough not to pull the trigger.

I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

Since the gun is owned by the police chief they didn't want to call it by it's proper name: Glock Semiautomatic Assault Pistol.lkd wrote:Journalists don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.JJVP wrote:I didn't know Glock made revolvers.![]()

Will the negligent adult be charged with leaving a loaded handgun where it's accessible to unsupervised children?

The Mayor answered the question.snorri wrote:Will the negligent adult be charged with leaving a loaded handgun where it's accessible to unsupervised children?
Florida City Mayor Otis Wallace confirmed there's an internal investigation into the incident to corroborate the chief’s account.
“It’s not a good thing,” said Wallace. “It’s certainly human -- more in a realm of a mistake rather than some conscious bad act.”
I have to wonder if you or I did this, would it then be in the realm of a mistake rather than some conscious bad act. Or do only Florida City Police Chiefs make mistakes.

Some people call Glocks "Tupperware". Maybe his was a "Lazy Susan"!JJVP wrote:I didn't know Glock made revolvers.![]()

Didn't you know that all cops carry "service revolvers" and all semi-automatic rifles are "assault rifles".

This book should be required reading for every US Citizen. I read it for my high school English class. Of course, I was too young to understand it all. One of my friends is home schooling his son and mentioned this book so I read it again last year. Good luck and have fun in your Poly Sci class.LaserTex wrote:Taking Political Science this semester and that was on the REQUIRED BOOK list. Thinking this will be an interesting course. Doug![]()

A .40 cal Glock revolver. I'd love to see one of those.

When you realize it was written as commentary on the Soviets, it's disturbing how many parallels you can find to our current government.WildBill wrote:This book should be required reading for every US Citizen.
