I know the wally walk is popular but I don't think it's popular enough to explain Walmart's wide selection of aloha shirts.

Re: Do you look for others like you?
No. Didn't bother looking after the first month I had my CHL. I try not to stare at people who might have a firearm on their person. I have seen the bottom of an OWB holster on a gentleman in a Salt Grass Steakhouse but never saw the gun. Basically if you see a guy with a loose fitting shirt he could be carrying. I have seen printing many times with what I assume is pocket carry and I have clearly seen the online of magazines. That is what I have noticed most, magazines.
Re: Do you look for others like you?
I find wearing any shirt with a looser fit and a darker print conceals my IWB snubbie on crossdraw just fine. If I move just right, a slight bulge may be discernible but it doesn't look like a gun. I find most people are totally oblivious. My dad was quite surprised the other day when we were walking around his farm. We had begun talking about my step mom having a gun she could carry around with her when alone at home. He felt it would be too hard for a woman to do that. I said; "No, it really isn't with the right holster" and raised my shirt to reveal my snubbie's grip sticking just out of my waistband. His surprise was priceless
He had no idea I was routinely carrying when visiting.
But to answer the question, I do often try to discern if someone else is carrying both as a curiosity and as a situational awareness. He might not be a CHL. He might be the BG.

Re: Do you look for others like you?
I was at the Grant Rd DMV for 5 hours (gah) this past Friday, and tried to make any carriers in the extremely crowded room. Couldn't find a one. The way most folks were dressed also made it appear that it was extremely unlikely that they were carrying. The people that were dressed in shirts and slacks got looked over carefully by myself.
What else you going to do when standing in line for 4-5 hours?

As my work uniform is a white shirt, suit and tie and I like to work without my jacket at times while carrying my Bersa 45 UC, I found a great Galco holster, the UDC for "ultra deep cover". It has a flexible J hook that allows me to tuck my shirt in between the gun and my waist band. Even with the white shirt, you can't see the black UC. I've been very pleased with this means of carrying a 45. It also fits nicely the Bersa 9 mm UC.
Jesus said, "And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 NET) Also, Jesus said, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own homestead, his possessions are undisturbed"(Luke 11:21 NAS)

Re: Do you look for others like you?
I routinely look for others who might be carrying. Last Friday I was pumping gas into my car and on the opposite side of my pump someone was in 5.11 cargo pants and what looked to be a 5.11 polo (had pens in the left arm pockets). I noticed this because I was also wearing 5.11 cargo pants and a 5.11 polo shirt (but no pens). I got a chuckle out of it, but couldn't tell if the guy was carrying or not.

I look...its kind of a weird game for me to pass the time when I am sitting around somewhere bored. I've only noticed one person who was definitely carrying (tactical vest, bottom of the holster sticking out when he sat down). I've had other who I thought might be, but concealed is concealed.geekwagun wrote:I routinely look for others who might be carrying. I do wear loose shirts to conceal both my gun AND my not so flattering abs...

My son just applied for his CHL and suddenly those "skinny" shirts and droopy drawers don't work anymore. He now has some camp shirts and new shorts....his mother couldn't tell he was carrying around the house.
Now he is so skinny, he has to carry at 5:30 or so...where as I could hang a small arsenal "round the clock" under my shirts
