2 fighter jets buzzed Dallas at very low altitude!
This afternoon, 2 fighter jets buzzed Dallas at very low altitude! I could not be outside in time to ID the airplanes but was able to see them heading south after passing Dallas Downtown at very low altitude.
It is unusual this to happen over a large city like Dallas.
No info on the incident in the news. Any explanation?

It was probably associated with the opening of the Texas State Fair at the Fairgrounds, which opened today. Back in California, I used to live about a 10 minute walk from main gate of the Rose Bowl. Every single time there was a major event there, or a UCLA football game, 2 or 3 Air National Guard jets are detailed to buzz the stadium to put on a show.

Yeah, It was the case when there was major NASCAR like Daytona 500. Never thought that Texas fair was so important.

Me neither, but I never really gave it any thought until I saw your post. I saw it so many times in California that I got kind of used to it. The fair was the only thing I could think of.Beiruty wrote:Yeah, It was the case when there was major NASCAR like Daytona 500. Never thought that Texas fair was so important.

Friend of mine saw quite a few of them patrolling over in Garland. I heard one at low altitude this afternoon here in Grapevine, but wasn't able to get out and see what it was.

Lets not forget that there is a Navy base in west Ft. Worth with lots of jets based there.
I wouldnt sweat it.

Re: 2 fighter jets buzzed Dallas at very low altitude!
I saw a flight of 4 in a standard but loose wing formation at about 2,000 ft. flying in line from the SMU football field at the start of the SMU-TCU game friday night. Couldn't figure out if they were part of the football game of the State Fair.

Living in the brazos valley we get them frequently for Aggie games.
