Taking Class on 10/16/2010

Post by texanron »

I'm taking the CHL class tomorrow starting @ 8am and it will be the all day class. The class includes all the paperwork, photos, fingerprints....they're even going to feed us lunch from one of my favorite BBQ places! I'm having a hard time thinking about anything other than than the class. Thankfully it is a slow day at the office. I have a axious/excited feeling. Almost like a kid on Christmas Eve. Did any of y'all have this type of uneasiness on the eve of taking your CHL class?

I felt the same way. Just wait until you get the packet mailed off and you're waiting on the plastic. That's a fun wait.

You have a very strange definition of "fun". :smilelol5:

That has crossed my mind. "Where is it!!". "Did I fill out something incorrectly?!?!". "Did they find something out about me that I don't remember?!?!"

You are taking the same class I took. Get ready to have a blast! Donovan is one of the coolest and most knowledgeable guys I have ever met. You are in good hands.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the specific class I'm taking. Thats reassuring to hear about the instructor as well.

It's funny how everybody knew where you were taking the class. I think the BBQ gave it away.
I too am a graduate of Donovan's class. ;-)

Good Luck! :txflag:

I was so ready to take the class that I could not sleep well the night before.

I must admit though... after the 8th hour, those 2 hours left to go seemed like 2 days. I was ready to go and the final test could not have come any faster.

But it is well worth it all!

Sounds about like me. I was so tuckered out that I didn't even clean my gun til the next morning. ;-)

I was wondering myself and came to the same conclusion you did that the BBQ gave it away.

Today is the day!! I think I've gone over my check no less than half a dozen times this morning.

The CHL class was very informative. It taught me that I didn't know as much as I thought I did. Now I have to fill out the paperwork online and put my packet in the mail. I'm not looking forward to this wait. To make the wait even more aggravated my IWB holster showed up in the mail today. I'll have plenty of time to break the holster in now.

I'll take it that you passed. ;-)

Congratulations! One step out of the way.

How many students in the class? I had 60+ in mine. It was held at the VFW hall on 290.
One guy got kicked out because he was caught at the bar having a beer when he was supposed to be learning. :???:

Yes, I passed.
There were only six of us apllying for a new license. Seven more students showed up for the renewal part.
The class was held at the VFW hall on 290. Donovan did the fingerprinting but Josh was the instructor. He did a great job!!
I didn't think it would be a good idea to grab a brew while taking a CHL class.
