I've not held one, hence why I ask. I can see why it would be nice for a carry piece, one less 90* to hide. However, I really like the extended magazine well on my Kimber, and this would negate it.
Not actually thinking of getting it done, just curious! Thanks in advance.

It would depend on the individual and individual tastes. It's a different feel. One that, to my had, is totally natural. Other than that it really can't be described with words. It had to be felt.
For some it's just another new fangled 1911 fad. This may be one fad that sticks around at least on the fringe.

Seriously now, I would like to hold one & see. I guess I will one day.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

That can be arranged....
Cyphur,
Mike M. has, amongst his other pistols, a full-size bobtail that he built.
Ask, and ye shall hold!

LT, I'm in a similar sinking boat. As family custom (where it got started I dont know) when one of my kids get their CHL, I buy the first gun as a Christmas or birthday gift. My oldest is waiting for the plastic now and she wants an XD9 sub compact (that I cant find).longtooth wrote:You hush man. I am broke now & Momma still wants one. I wont ever get another gun. My son just gave us his family Christmas list and on his was a new 1911. He's using the excuse that his renewal is comming up. NOT PART OF THE CUSTOM. My wife is thinking otherwise. There goes my Dillon 550.

There are 4 generations of shooters when we all get together. Mom is 76 & the youngest shooter is 8. We have one more that is 6 but not interested at all yet.
There are men that have an awful time just gettting the wife to agree to arming the house. We are fortunate to have the problem we do.
As far as the 550, that needs to be bought. It will pay for itself rather quickly if you do like I do & reload for all the shooters in the clan.
I shoot the most but reload Mom's .380, My .45, son's .40, Son-in-law's 38ps, & all hunting ammo.
.300 WSM, 25-06, .308, 30-30 WIN.
Just gave the Son a Bushmaster not too long ago. Just because. No B-day or holiday. Thought he needed it & the Daughter-in-law now claims it.
What a glorious problem to have.

Last time you were here we traded holster for ammo. Next time we may need to trade gun for ammo.
