Florida Road Rage Shooting

Post by Kythas »

I'm currently in Orlando, Florida, and just saw this story on the news. It seems a road rage incident here ended with one man shot. The man who was shot is the one facing charges.

Some interesting points:
Deputies said the man who opened fire on 24-year-old Sean Ralston may have been shooting in self-defense.
In a 911 call made at the scene of the shooting, a woman who identifies herself as Ralston's girlfriend tells a 911 operator he had been shot.

The woman, who is identified in the incident report as Tracey Lynn Snyder, 40,...
Age differences are not what they used to be. ;-)
Bustamante [defender] and witnesses said Ralston got upset after Bustamante drove too slowly after making a right turn, passed Bustamante and then stopped his own vehicle in the middle of the road.

Ralston then approached Bustamante's truck and punched him several times through the open window,...
Those witnesses are worth their weight in gold.
A criminal background search indicates that Ralston has in the past faced charges including aggravated battery, carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession, probation violation and vehicle theft.

Bustamante, who does not have a criminal record, has a permit to carry the handgun,...
Also, the guy was shot in the chest with a .40 and was still ambulatory, though he did change his agenda.

We lived near Orlando/Disney World from 1984 -1990. It was very easy to get totally enraged on the roads then. I suspect that it may be easier now.

We put that experience down as another, "been there, done that"

Only 16 years; I dated a 33 year old when I was 17...but it helped that she could pass for a teenager. High school looks with twice the experience is a pretty fun combination. Somehow I doubt that Mr Multiple Violent Offender was having that sort of luck in the romance department.

Very true. Before coming here I thought people in the DFW area were bad drivers. Drivers in DFW are all driving Miss Daisy compared to drivers here in Orlando. I'm glad this is my last day here.
