I always hated the noise of the catapult. I know, the sound of freedom and all, but my shop was up forward at that thing was loud. Of course, I also slept about 6-8 feet underneath the #3 wire and managed to sleep just fine after only a couple of days acclimating.

I finally got the whole video to download. This really cool. They did not have to use afterburner for the launch. This will save even more fuel.

My stateroom was right under the CAT 1 JBD on the Truman, I didn't mind it one bit. I even passed on a 3rd deck stateroom to stay close to our maintenance control and the 03 wardroom. Before I commissioned I lived on the 03 between the arresting gear machinery rooms, didn't mind that either.

The new EMALS is impressive, unfortunately I'll be retired before it ever makes it to a ship, two years and counting.
