Seems the blue is the "tightest" around here, but red works just well...

Re: LOCKED Threads
I'm the OP whose thread you locked. I have no idea why. I dare you to find anything in my post that is "off base" or offensive. There was NO warning. It was just locked.CompVest wrote:Threads are locked due to rule violations or content that is just too far off base. When I lock a thread generally if you check the posts you will see warnings being given and not being heeded. Yes, any posts that are offensive will have been removed. Offensive posts are generally personal attacks by members against another member.
Basically if I were to post a reason for locking a thread, it would be something like "This thread is locked due to violation of Forum rules." Very generic.
You got any responses??

Please don't try to go toe to toe with a mod - it's just no polite. My threads have frequently been subject to moderation...it doesn't hurt my feelings. I know that many times what I'm conveying is not what I intended, and if I'm short in a thread in can be perceived as rude or attacking. I'm thankful for the guys (gender neutral term) that keep me on my toes.Griffen wrote:I'm the OP whose thread you locked. I have no idea why. i just want to know what went wrong. At minimum I deserve that. no warning is a bit despotic don't you think?gigag04 wrote:Please don't try to go toe to toe with a mod - it's just no polite. Re: LOCKED Threads
Man, I was really hopeful this thread was about locked threads on a firearm. I have been trying to get the barrel nut off an AR for the better part of the day and was hoping I wasn't alone in my frustration
. Oh well, back to the garage for me....

The vast majority posting on this forum appreciate the way it's run.

Read the rules BEFORE you post. That should help you a lot.

Re: LOCKED Threads
The thread that got locked was a duplicate of another thread that was already running. if you look at the 1st response, someone had posted a link to the already running thread. We do try to keep duplication of discussions down to a minimum so that all involved can share in that one thread and have one place to discuss.Griffen wrote:i just want to know what went wrong. Re: LOCKED Threads
Thanks Keith! That was helpful insight. I appreciate you taking the time to 'splain. Some of us may be newer (or slower) than others. I'm sure most poster neither want to, or intend to, violate the rules - including myself. But not knowing the reason a thread was locked is not productive for anyone, especially for learning purposes. Again - much appreciatedKeith B wrote:The thread that got locked was a duplicate of another thread that was already running. if you look at the 1st response, someone had posted a link to the already running thread.
