Dart trains and aac
I will be attending an event at American airlines center tomorrow night. We are considering riding the dart train from Arlington. Is either place 30.06 posted or off limits for carry for any other reason?

Any sporting event is off limits. Period.
Re: Dart trains and aac
The trains are okay, but as fake as the WWE Raw is, I think is still considered a professional sporting event, so Grizz is right.
The AAC has taken down their metal detectors, but they still wand many people that enter for any event. I have never seen a 30.06 sign there and have only been there for hockey. I've been wanded once and let in without being wanded 4-5 times. My brother told me they wanded him when he took the kids there for the circus. My brother does not have a CHL or even own a gun. I don't like the circus, but don't know if I would have attempted to carry for that event or not because I know their mindset and don't know if I would have been in the mood to discuss it with them.
The first time I went there after getting my CHL I couldn't remember about pro sporting events and when I saw the metal detectors I stopped to ask and officer standing outside. This sergeant didn't know what a CHL was and was shocked when I told him. Still not knowing, I went ahead and returned it to my truck and came back unarmed. As son as I got home I checked the handbook and was glad I took it back to the truck.

Re: Dart trains and aac
Greetings, all. Been poking around this site for some time, and greatly enjoy the legal conversations on the site. Most show some deep understanding of both the letter and intent of the law. So, please forgive me for choosing this to be the subject of my first post. I hope to post more in the future. I have been carrying with a CHL for over two years and still enjoy debating/discussing the finer points, as I don't want ANY of us to go around unarmed if legally possible. I have seen many blanket, "in no uncertain term" posts like this, on many other forums, not just concerning firearms and I always question them. The best credit a statement like this could use is actual law. Please reference Texas law that gives you this opinion, your statement would be that much more important.Griz44 wrote:Any sporting event is off limits. Period.

Quick clarification.... Any "high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event, or interscholastic..." event is off limits.
So I regularly attend my daughters' non-school affiliated, clearly amateur, softball games, while carrying. And I am not breaking the law.
It is also possible for AAC to have a sporting event that is neither professional, nor interscholastic..., though perhaps unlikely. Carry at such an event would be legal, though it remains to be seen whether you could get in...

That is where I was hoping this discussion would go... 'high school, collegiate, etc.' does not mean 'any'.ScottDLS wrote:Quick clarification.... Any "high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event, or interscholastic..." event is off limits.

Thank you for the responses.

School scantioned sporting event is different from student practicing or playing in a gym or lke in Plano, TX in huge sporting hall ( not sure what is called, where I carried once)

Re: Dart trains and aac
if it is WWE is that an entertainment event ? not really a sport ? not that I would go anyway,,just an honest question
Re: Dart trains and aac
I don't believe that it is a sporting event. It's just bad theater.cnovel wrote:if it is WWE is that an entertainment event ? not really a sport ? not that I would go anyway,,just an honest question

Even the company name states that it is entertainment. "World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc."
