AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

"S.B. 354 is an effort to aid students, faculty, and visitors on college campuses in protecting themselves not only from mass shootings like those that occurred on Virginia Tech University and Northern Illinois University campuses, but from other life-threatening situations " ...

1) storing guns in locked boxes in cars is easier than a forklift and ATM

2) video cameras at banks and campuses do not "prevent" crime, nor "protect" ... they can't

Survivor of violent stalking grew up around Houston; UT STUDENT, Became a stalking victim while a student at UT, who was a stalking victim of an ex-boyfriend Brian, showed up at her classes, she stopped going to classes to avoid him, he started stalking leaving notes under wipers, reported to Austin PD who didn't do anything to protect her except protective order needed parents consent, she hadn't told her parents yet, weeks laster he showed up on doorstep wearing steel-toed boots, she had black eye, split lip, various cuts and bruises and 2 broken ribs...
