Internet Explorer 7.0

I've been using Firefox for the last several months and am quite happy with it. But I installed IE 7.0 today and it seems to be pretty decent.

Is there anybody using IE 7.0 and can you give a report?

I've been using it for about six weeks. I like it but, it took a little getting used to.

I have been using IE7 for a few months. It looks like it's pretty good. No problems here.

When I upgraded to IE7, it stopped recording my history. I keep a lot of history, 12 weeks, but no history was recorded after 11/27.

Deleting this existing history seems to have fixed that.

It includes a major change in web use that I won't get used to.

It invoves web pages opening in separate tabs within the same window. It allows you to simultaneously open a group of sites as tabs within a window. I've gone back to using separate windows.

Lastly, it is much slower to open new windows. I believe this is because of a phishing detection process that is part of IE7.

I don't hate it enough to change back, but knowing what I know, I would have kept IE6.

I absolutely hate it!

I have it on only one machine... this one.
All of my other machines have been reverted back to 6.0X

Several of my web sites (at work) lock up on IE 7 (One of my companies--on their front page when you log in states: "DO NOT INSTALL IE 7.0! WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.") and not only the brouser locks up, but the whole computer locks up. The only way to gain control is to turn off the machine and reboot.

It's easy to remove IE 7.
just go to <Start> <Control Pannel> <Add Remove Programs> <Windows IE 7> and click on <remove>

It will automatically remove IE 7 and restore IE 6.

A reboot later and you have Good Ole IE 6 back.

You can turn off phishing detection. It's under "Tools".

I am not a fan of IE 7 yet. It locks up on me constantly. Hopefully Microsoft will get it straightened out but until I prefer Firefox.

I have IE 7.0 installed but only use it for a few sites (like Sprint, which only gives me mobile pages if I don't use IE).

I prefer Opera to Firefox. I've been using it since version 5.00 (we're at v9.10 now) and really like it. It's stable, fast and very configurable. I can even get it to tell MOST sites it's IE, so I can visit them with all the bells & whistles of ActiveX controls & suchlike without the risks of using IE.

I don't care for Firefox much. Somewhere along the way, it got a weird bar at the bottom that eats up about 2" of screen real estate & has a funky little red carat in it. I've tried everything I know to get rid of it (even removing it, deleting all directories, rebooting, running a registry clean-up and then reinstalling), but I can't seem to get rid of it.

Thanks! I uninstalled all the extensions as was suggested there and it corrected the problem with Firefox. Thanks so much!

Another vote for OPERA.

I only use IE7 for MS Updates, and my Outlook 2003 ServerMail

BTW IE 7 does not really uninstall. I support over 2000 clients here and a few have installed IE 7 and many items stopped working. So we tried the uninstall....right..... Time for re-image.
