Status: Mailed last week... still nothing?

So, I'm a little worried.

When my status said "on hold pending photo holder: notice sent to applicant", I never received a notice... and I waited almost 2 months to get a passport photo sent in, so it's not like it was slow-mailed or anything.

Now my status changed to manufacturing 2 weeks ago, and "mailed" as of last Tuesday (the 29th!)... and still no license.

Should it really take over a week to arrive in the mail?

I find it a little funny... Moved here from Massachusetts, and the impression is that it's so easy to get a CHL in Texas and everyone owns guns. Yet the whole process in MA took me less than a month.
Moved to TX and not only is the CHL class 10 times longer than the MA one, the whole process has taken almost 6 months to complete!

Welcome to the forum, and to the Wild West, where the perception is that people draw guns fast and the mail moves slowly by pony express, because the horse is old now.
I had a Korean girlfriend from Mass, she was happy we had cars and surprised we had colleges and cities with real swimming pools instead of just stock ponds.

My recent renewal took about 10 days from "mailed" to in mailbox - - - I think "mailed" means it has been sent to the mail room not that USPS has it in their system. Keep the faith, it will get to you.

Ah, good to know. I was just worried since I never got the notice about my photo, that maybe they had my address incorrect or something!

Ugh they called me back and left a voicemail saying "call us, we really have to speak over the phone"... and their lines are closed due to heavy call volume.

The suspense...

Because apparently it got returned by the post office and thrown out, says the DPS rep.
