Moving to OK, need help with CHL

Ok, things have recently changed, looks like I'm heading off to grad school in Oklahoma. I've been a lifelong TX resident, and have had my TX CHL for about a year. What can I do in order to keep carrying, legally.
Few bits of info: I am (if allowed) keeping my address in TX, along with car registration, and driver's license. All official stuff from the school will be sent back to TX. I am basically just going to be renting a place for the time I am there.

What can I do to keep carrying? WIll I lose my TX CHL?
If so, what is the process and waiting period to get a OK CHL?

What is the current policy on weapons in vehicles? What is the policy on long guns or open carry?
Also, are there any magazine capacity or rifle length changes from TX? Are there any unusual laws there, that aren't present in TX?

I think legally in most states you have to change your address within a certain amount of time. Call the DPS there and ask what you can do. If all else fails take their CHL course.

You can keep your Texas CHL as a non-resident CHL if you move your address to Oklahoma. Consult handgunlaw.us to determine if Oklahoma honors a non-resident Texas CHL.

No. If you are merely attending a university in another state, you may keep your permanent address on your concealed handgun license. If after you graduate from the university, you move out of your parent’s home, then follow the procedure for requesting a duplicate license with the address change including paying the appropriate fee. I wonder if anything changes considering I'm going to be renting an apartment in my name, and probably won't be moving back in, besides a few summers before I graduate?

I wouldn't sweat too much about this decision....

Looks like OK will honor your TX permit, or OK will honor your TX non-res permit if you choose to move your DL address to OK... Or... you can get an OK permit that TX will honor when you come visit...

Just make sure the address on your CHL matches the address on your DL. Any of the above choices should be fine.

No open carry (as far as I know). Long guns must be transported unloaded. Concealed carry pistol may not exceed .45 caliber.

Also, be aware that gun laws may be different when you're on native American reservation land.

Another thing.... any old "no guns" or "gunbusters" sign constitutes legal notice and prevents a CCW permit holder from carrying his gun into a premises. There is no Texas-style "30.06" signage requirement. I believe that OK passed a "parking lot" bill a couple of years ago much like the one currently before the Texas legislature.

As long as you are paying out of state tuition, you are not an Oklahoma resident and are still a Texas resident.

If you start paying instate tuition a different story.

Unless the law has changed the only time Texas issues a non resident CHL is when the state of residence does not issue their version of a CHL, such as Vermont, Illinois and Wisconsin.
