Bayou Rifles - the Juliff range. It is actually on the way home from work, so I can shoot whenever it is not raining - and sometimes when it is, if I'm willing to sacrifice the cardboard backer. Pistol ranges are covered, as are 100 and 300 yard rifle; but 200 and 600 are *not* covered!

Andrew

I've recently started shooting down at my parents' place. It's a 45 minute drive, but unlike most indoor ranges, I can practice a lot of things there that the indoor ranges won't let you practice (drawing from concealment, rapid fire, close quarters stuff, etc.). The other benefit is no range fees. :D
I still go to indoor ranges to practice precision shooting. Generally, I go to Bass Pro Shop or DFW Gun Range when I want to do that. BPS is temporarily closed because of a fire though.

i go to alpine to shoot pistols. when i take out my rifles, i make the trek to tac-pro. the money i save shooting surplus FMJ ammo far exceeds my gas and time driving the distance to get there. there's no shade on their rifle ranges, but i like having a few ranges all to myself, no rules against rapid fire, and shooting the cheap surplus.
