So, we got there, and as we browsed through all the dogs that were available, we really didn't see one that stood out for us. Then we got to the very last cage, and there he was. He was sitting in the back of his cage.

Seriously, he looks like a great dog and I am sure he will be the new love of your guys lives. Congratulations and give him a big pat on the head from me!
I know, huh? I kept wanting to call him Trapper John the first day we had him.
I bet he is an M.D., but that doesn't stand for Mad Dog or Mean Dog, not with a face like that. More like Mellow Dog.
I was thinking the same thing. I guess we all had our minds brainwashed by television.
TAM - I don't know how to say this, but judging from the close-up picture, your new pet has "Dog Nose".
I had to copy and past the picture in word to see "All of Trapper". He is lovely! Has very wise eyes!
Congratulations to all of you!

They are the most intelligent too. As my Dad used to say to his clients who referred to their canine/feline companion as "just dumb animals, he would remind them that their pet had free room and board, free medical care and all the love attention that can be garnered on them. He would say " There are people living under bridges that aren't as smart as your pet!"

When we introduced Trapper to our vet a couple of weeks after we got him, the vet got down on the floor with him and said, "Dude, you totally hit the jackpot with these two!"
I think this picture backs up his opinion:
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

...I would not wanta be a vaccuum cleaner salesman who'd been too persistant at your house...he looks like he'd express himself quite well...my heart melts to see him...doncha just love dogs?!!!
Congrats on the new family member, Amigo! I lost my AKC Chocolate Lab, "Bear", 3 years ago. My wife wanted a Rott, me a replacement Lab. So we comprimised about 6 months ago and rescued an 8 wk old lab/rott mix. The perfect dog...undying loyalty and very protective of my wife and 6 yr old daughter!
Congrats again!

At 8 months old already large enough to get someone's undivided attention.
Sounds like a nice pup.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.
