I tend to keep in mind while driving that the other guy may be new to town....I have been, and I may be next week....keeps me humble.

I hate driving in DFW, scares me to death, I would rather drive in Houston.

On the other hand, if you are in the wrong lane at the last minute and can't move, as I've taught my kids "take the lane, fix it later" at some point you'll learn the signs for your exits.

I have watched both types of drivers operate on numerous occasions, as have we all, and IMO, both behaviors are deplorable. Idiot drivers that intentionally "game" the lanes for a perceived personal gain often times create hazards other drivers must avoid, however, so do those drivers who intentionally try to block them in order to "teach a lesson". Neither driver apparently cares about how their behavior can have tertiary effects on others, and both show a lack of maturity.

While the road rager is wrong, the actions of the lady in question are nothing to be proud of either IMO.

I disagree....I think she did exactly as she should have.

I am busting open laughing. Last week we were in Houston and my son-in-law was driving. He turned on his blinker to move to the right and the guy let him in. Having driven in Houston before, I could not believe this happened. I scoffed that the guy probably recognized we were tourists because of the turn signal.

I disagree....I think she did exactly as she should have.

I'd certainly give her the benefit of the doubt.
Generally you can tell by the "body language" of the other vehicle whether they just wound up in the wrong lane, failed to plan ahead, or just want to bully their way in.
If someone looks lost, is moving slowly and has their blinker on, I'll give them a break.
But the guy that races to blend line and tries to push in, not so much. Especially if there's a big gap behind me.

Of course, my resolve varies depending on whether I'm in the Z3, the F350, or the Mustang.

While that story certaintly had a good ending, I think she is just as guilty of road rage as he was.

I guess once I got my CHL 6 years ago I quit doing things like she did in this story, and believe me, I used to be the same way. Just not worth it, all it does is increase your chances of having to defend yourself and use your weapon versus letting one measly car in front you. I'll go with the latter on that one, much cheaper and I'll get to my destination 2 seconds later.........just my 2 cents.

Again, I like how the story ended though..........I'm sure he may think twice before road raging with someone who he thinks is weaker than him.

The guy who let your SIL in was quite obviously a tourist himself.

When I was a teenager I might have behaved like the woman did . . . now, I may think about what I'd like to do, but I actually try to "drive friendly" and avoid escalation.

While I fully appreciate the woman's inclination, I don't think I would have done the same myself.
