They are nice and they feel great in my hand. I'm wanting a full size 9mm.

I do own a kimber pro carry 4" 9mm that i love shooting.

I'm looking for that ultimate piece for the collection.

Can we assume that the G26 is the Toyota, and the Sig is the Lexus, in your opinion?

For me, if I were looking for what I might consider an "ultimate" 9mm piece in a 1911 format for a collection, I'd be leaning toward the Wilson Classic Supergrade in 9mm. You get your choice of colors and finish, and of a stainless, carbon steel, or aluminum frame.

The Classic has adjustable sights, but if you were wanting someting in fixed sights with a carry fit-and-finish, there's the Wilson Tactical Supergrade.

With the base price starting at about $4,900, how can you go wrong?

Rate the G26:

Is it accurate? - YES
Does it go bang every time? - YES
Is it inexpensive? - YES
Does the factory back their product? - YES

Oh, and will it take a 9mm 30 round magazine? - YES

Everything else is bells and whistles, and a matter of personal taste/desires.

I have a p238 and really like it.

Everything else in the sig line (non 1911) is to bulky in my hand. They have some beautiful guns but the grips are to big.

I vote for the Browning. I don't know that I would call it "Ultimate" as there are so many high quality models to choose from, offered by a dozen different manufactures, but they are remarkable pistols and a time proven design that has made it's mark. Beyond that, they have the cool factor in their favor in my opinion. Battlefield proven design is a good criteria to consider in any weapon.

You left out an important parameter: price.

As stated previously, money no object and willing to wait 8 months: Wilson Combat Supergrade 9mm.

Below that:

- Any Wilson full size 9mm 1911 (CQB, Classic)
- Nighthawk Talon or GRP 9mm
- SW1911 Pro 9mm
- Walther PPQ 9mm ;-)
- HK P7M8
- HK P7M13

One that fires the bullet when I pull the trigger and one I can hit what I aim at consistently.

That being said-- my beretta px4 full size and sc have never failed me yet no matter what ammo I put through them...

I don't own a Sig (cost issues at the moment), but I did get to fire a P226 with a SRT (short reset trigger)...I know the OP said he was looking for a 1911-style pistol, but I agree that the Sig is a luxury car equivalent...on the future purchase list for me...wish I had more input, but my 9mms are Rugers, old P89 and SR9c...good pistols, but not in the same class as the Sig...

Rugerboy50 in your search for the ultimate 9mm look at this website, a lot less cost than the Wilsons. I should take delivery of a 357sig Pro Elite Commander from them in 3 weeks or so. I put everything on it I wanted and the price wasn't too bad. The cost is up to you. http://www.fusionfirearms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Best 9mm fires .45 ACP.

From that list I like the STI. Made in Texas, good warranty.

Based on your options, I would say HP. Wonderful, soft shooting guns. Hammer bites me. Boo on a 'lil blood. The afterward 1911 requirement makes me say EMP. love mine, picky so far 'bout hollow points. Waffled 'bout the Colt Defender sittin' next to it. 'twas a .45. Wanted a 9mm. Stuck to the EMP. Free shipping and work will come into play. Ultimate, however, would be 92FS. 16 rounds. Could prolly eat a stone if you can fit it in the mag. Big, but this negates recoil. Up to you, tho.
