A few Colorado questions
I have researched most of the laws but I can't find anything about carrying a BUG in Colorado. I plan of carrying my 10mm for woods carry being that we will be backpacking but can I also carry a back up? Is there a limit to the amount of guns I can conceal on my person or in my car for that matter? I want to carry my Glock 20 and snub smith and my girl doesn't have a CHL but wants her 9mm in the glove box locked and loaded. Is there a problem with that?

Re: A few Colorado questions
Well it seems you can have a gun loaded in your car in Colorado, just not one in the chamber with shotguns and rifles from what I can see (can't remember where I found the info about long guns). Here is the info http://csp.state.co.us/faq_Guns.html
I don't see anything mentioning how many firearms you may conceal but I just want to be sure it is nothing like NM where you can only conceal one on your person at a time etc. I guess I will just call Colorado state patrol tomorrow and ask. There concealed carry info is not as easy to find as NM or Arizona. I guess this is because local sheriffs issue CHLs and info is more local. Also, seems the Colorado CHL forum no longer exists.

Here is the law about long guns in a vehicle.
33-6-125. Possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
It is unlawful to possess any firearm, other than a pistol or revolver, in or on any motor vehicle unless the chamber of such firearm is unloaded. For the purposes of this section, a "muzzle-loader" shall be considered unloaded if it is not primed, and, for such purpose, "primed" means having a percussion cap on the nipple or flint in the striker and powder in the flash pan.

You might find some help at http://www.cogunowners.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Colorado has some oddities in their law related to concealed carry in Denver and other cities, leftovers from court cases (as usual, liberal cities trying to ban guns after legislature passes 2A laws). Never ran across any limits to the number of guns you can carry (and I was unawary NM had one - sounds like something out of the northeast).
Coloradocarry.com was a good resource, but appears to be off line right now.
I've carried in Colorado without incident, but I never did anything to attract attention to my carrying. Never went hunting tho.

sorry, this is beyond my knowledge, we just carried, no hunting here...all of his long guns actually stayed here in TX for the few years we were there.

Re: A few Colorado questions
http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/newmexico.pdf It is a weird law and I think the only state who has it (I will find out shortly). Under places prohibited even for concealed carry holder it is the first sentence. Doesn't mean you can't have it in your car but a BUG is a no no on your person.

Re: A few Colorado questions
I have a Colorado CHL and carry primary and BUG daily. No issues with the law in Colorado Springs.
Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.
