For anyone who is not familiar with the ".45 Super" cartridge, go to the above link,
scroll down to the bottom of the page and you can find another page which discusses
the .45 Super cartridge in detail, and how it differs from .45 ACP.

In all fairness they would be better if they shot rainbows and unicorns. It was a different time back then.

From an engineering standpoint those are amazing, especially from 1820. Look how small the birds are to be moving. Not trying to lose manpoints, just fascinated by miniaturization.

I'm with you - manpoints and all. What an incredible feat of engineering. And all without AutoCAD!!!!

Who would lose manpoints? They are the epitome of art and engineering...on top of that...they're pistols!!!!

If I had a cool $2.5 million they would be proudly displayed next to my miniature box collection. I love things like those two works of art.

If I win the lotto, I will be posting pictures of those sitting on my 50 dollar coffee table. Right beside the scuff marks made by my shoes.

It wasn't clear to me, are they actual functional pistols? Or just fancy music boxes? You pull the trigger and a singing, twittering bird pops out of the barrel. Who thinks of these things? :headscratch

They are not functional pistols per se. They simply deploy a small singing bird which will soothe the assailant and make him ponder the error of his thuggish ways. He will then realize that he is breaking the law, repent and live a just a noble life.

As antiques they cannot be chambered with the modern liberal ammo of rainbows and unicorns. They might be ok with older hope and change but I wouldn't try it as you could never be sure what that load would be.
