Record time

Post by cctcaden »

I was just wondering since Concealed carry passed in Texas what the record was for longest processing time. I hear horror stories of 120 days or more but just curious Who had the longest wait. You don't have to provide any details as to why if you don't want to.
When the game is over the King and the Pawn go back in the same box.

Times vary depending on how busy DPS is and how backlogged. My wife worked for DPS as an accountant has since retired but I know they can get pretty busy.

Back in 2009 I was impressed when it ONLY took 8 weeks. Apparently DPS has got their game together.

Buddy of mine just did his renewal, it was 25 days from the renewal class to his MAILBOX...wow!

He was able to reuse his original photo and fingerprints...DPS CHL unit said it was OK.

I dropped my app off at DPS and had a license in hand 13 days later. I was pretty shocked actually.

I think my wife may have the new record. 14 days exactly!

Of course it helps that we live in Austin so mail is next day for us... speeds up the turn around
