My favorite eateries cut uniformed LEOs some slack when it comes to paying the check. With what little disposable income we still have thats budgeted for outside meals, places like that get a disproportinate chunk.

Its just another way to 'pay it fwd'.

I do feel comfy with a couple or three DPD vehicles in the parking lot.

Back a couple of decades, pre cell 'phones', when we could occasionally talk with LEOs via radio, they were a reassuring presence. They still are.

I'm always afraid one of them is going to say "Hey, my eyes are up HERE" while I'm staring at the nice 1911s I see in the belt holsters some of the small-town sheriffs and a few "Texas Rangers" types who shop there

our fire marshall has a real sharp 1911 and even sweeter holster, he has caught me eye balling a few times
