"There is no part of the administration of government that requires extensive information and a thorough knowledge of the principles of political economy, so much as the business of taxation. The man who understands those principles best will be least likely to resort to oppressive expedients, or sacrifice any particular class of citizens to the procurement of revenue." --Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 35, 1788

Class Warfare
Thought this quote seemed particularly appropriate...
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
Never Forget.

Re: Class Warfare
Based on all that is happening, I do not believe that there is an "resort" in the attempts at taxation. It is a conscious, deliberate effort to use governmental power to execute social engineering. Levying taxation is only one of the many methods being employed.
I'm not normally a sucker for conspiracies but everything from Fast and Furious to the jobs bill appears to be intended to break down pieces of the Constitution. The proposed dismissal of charitable deductions is nothing but a power grab that was hinted at two years ago. Consider that one of the largest groups of charitable deductions are religious entities.

Anything other a flat tax reeks of social engineering. Any income tax exemptions, deductions, credits are social engineering of one sort or another. Same for the different tax rates and the married/single discrimination.chasfm11 wrote:Based on all that is happening, I do not believe that there is an "resort" in the attempts at taxation. None of which support the current rant against the "wealthy" for not paying their "fair share".Anything other a flat tax reeks of social engineering. Any income tax exemptions, deductions, credits are social engineering of one sort or another. Same for the different tax rates and the married/single discrimination.
Considering federal taxes and short term capital gains are progressive from 10-35% based on total amount, and long term capital gains favor the lower income brackets, the "fair share" crowd are liars, delusional, or some combination of both.
As an American, I find it reprehensible that ANY citizen forks out 25% of their pay to federal taxes, let alone 35%, and yet, there are citizens who would have no problem taking more than half of what a fellow citizen earns.
The "fair share" crowd are doing nothing more than trying to incite the dumb masses in order to legitimize the further theft of more of OUR money to supplement the lives of those who make poor life decisions.
Freedom means we are free to make our own decisions and reap the rewards OR consequences of those decisions.

The 'Class Warfare' card is being played since the 'Race Card' is now being declined.
