WTB: Plate Carrier or Chest Rig - DFW

Post by spud »

Starting to look for a plate carrier or chest rig. New or used but not damaged too bad. Right now I have a few options in mind, but would like to see if I could keep the money here first.

Post up here or PM me. :cheers2: :patriot:

What size plates are you wanting to run?

Forgive my ignorance on this issue. I assume it would be medium? Plates would be something farther down the list.

Here is a few links to what I am looking at. Any input or advice welcome.

Do you already have the plates?

What's your intended use?

There are various types and capabilities of personal armor ie. Concealable, BALCS, SPEAR, SAPI/ESAPI etc.

Some carriers are modular and can fit different platforms, while others cannot.

I currently do not own any armor at all. The use will be for training classes, pistol and carbine.

Take a look at this one if you only plan on running plates in the future. Plenty of molle for attaching stuff.

If you ever plan on running soft armor (non-rifle protection), then you might want to consider something else.

Personally, I like to keep my soft armor and plates separate. Get yourself a plate carrier (and level III or IV plates) for 'tactical' and 'known-threat' scenarios and get a some concealable armor (IIIA) for less-likely scenarios.

Good luck to you.
