Wally World 'walk' was a tire store

Post by johncanfield »

Finally my plastic came a week or so ago and my first opportunity to carry was yesterday. I needed the tractor to move some stuff around and discovered it had a flat (front tire thank goodness!), so I needed to pull the tire and run into Kerrville (25 miles away) to get it repaired. I had on a large T-shirt, so I thought, "what the heck - let's carry for practice!" The carry weapon was our little Sig Sauer P238 with an IWB holster - this setup is super easy to conceal.

I was a little concerned about the seatbelt comfort but it was fine and no discomfort. It felt just a tad different to be armed out in public, but I quickly overcame the emotion and felt empowered/trusted by the state to do the right thing. Heaven forbid I would ever need to draw my weapon on a person, but it is fantastic to have an option other than to be a victim.

Nice work John.

Did you get the tire and work done at home?

Good job !! Carry all the time and you will feel naked without it.

Welcome, John, and congratulations.

Just to be clear, however, the tire store does not qualify as an "official" Wally Walk.

First, you have to understand the rules

Then, you need to have pictures. :anamatedbanana

I think it was Random Outburst that set a new standard for Wally Walks by getting her pictures taken in a Batgirl costume. I tried to find that link but couldn't.

Batgirl? Hmmm.. If I tried that, I would probably be escorted out of the store as a pervert  . It might be a long time before I set foot in a Wally World store - one of my important objectives in life is to spend as little time and money in a WW as possible.

How were the nachos?
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

Thanks guys!

Nachos :confused5 . I did carry at our small town diner tonight though but I had flautas (the one traffic light is a yellow caution downtown.) That little Sig P238 is so easy to carry and conceal - I literally forget it was IWB at my appendix (2 o'clock.)

Congrats, Tom! Pretty soon it will seem like the wait was nothing, and like you have been carrying forever.

I'm surprised you all remembered I did my walk in a Batgirl costume! It was fun, indeed. And let me tell you, that fanny pack was the best purchase I ever made. I'll carry wherever I can, no matter what I'm wearing thanks to it.

johncanfield - I agree with you; I only did my walk with no purchases. I won't give them any of my money unless it's an absolute emergency, and maybe not even then.
Anyway, congrats on getting your plastic and making a public outing! It will feel natural very fast. I hadn't had mine but a couple weeks before I started feeling naked without my gun on. It's a shame that I'm still a college student because that means I feel naked for most of the day while I'm in class. Remember - carry 24/7 or guess right. You'll start wanting to carry all the time once you get comfortable with it and work out any kinks in your concealment setup!
