Was never an issue with the 26 and 27. Only early production mid size gen 4 Glocks. Even then is was only a few isolated cases. Glock has since corrected the problem. I sell more Glock 19 gen 4's than any other gun and have yet to have any reported problems from my clients.Russell wrote:Well that was a frustrating experience. Drove an hour there just to be told the price I was quoted on the phone was actually for the Gen 3, even though I specifically mentioned I wanted a Gen 4 on the phone. On top of that it was a higher price than two of the other stores I've called ($549).
sigh
I did, however, get some interesting feedback that I hadn't heard before. The salesman there told me he would recommend I stay away from the Gen 4's, as they have been having trouble with the recoil assembly snapping in half. While I have come across some FTF's/FTE's due to Glock using too strong of a recoil assembly apparently in the new 17, I have not seen anything regarding the 27's nor any of the model's recoil assembly's completely snapping. This post seems to have a good list of issues the Gen 4's have seen:

Has anyone heard of this? Should I be staying away from a Gen4 27?
During Glock Armorer Class we were told that that there hasn't been any problem with the new recoil spring design.
