Ummm Guilty...

Where are you located? If you are in Houston I can give you three Walmarts that have .308 in stock.

Academy on 45 South near Hobby usually has a decent selection of. 308 and typically has Monarch brass .308 for about $15 a box.

Yea, it can get pretty sketchy by the airport but the Academy is actually nice.

That's where I purchased a .38 snubbie off a member. I carried my .38 with me and then loaded the bought one. I had my 11 shooter ready. Funny stuff.

I've all but given up on finding 'brand name' 308/7.62. I now reload, otherwise I'd I just save up a little and order it online.
Cheers!

Here is a new WalMart and they always have tons of ammo. Its up by the corner I10 and 610 north of the Galleria though.
Houston Walmart Store #3640
1118 Silber Rd
Houston, TX 77055
Phone: (713) 797-2245

I usually do pretty good here although sometimes they are a pain because they will only allow you to buy 6 boxes of ammo.
Stafford Walmart Supercenter Store #915
11210 W Airport Blvd
Stafford, TX 77477
Phone: (281) 933-7800

This one may be a bit far but I get good results here too
Sugar Land Walmart Supercenter Store #2993
345 Highway 6
Sugar Land, TX 77478
Phone: (281) 340-0900

If you get really desperate I might be talked in to sharing some of my stash with you at cost (Walmart) I could share about 5-8 boxes or so... Now if you need .45 or .223 I can hook you up!!! "rlol"

I have hundreds of rounds of .308 and I don't even own a .308 rifle anymore. Online is the best place to buy if you plan on buying any bulk at all. If you get desperate you can always call ammunition to go in Brenham, tx or Collins Cartridge Company in Conroe, tx. Academy's computer also has a search function to look up inventory at other stores.

I ran into this same issue before I went hunting last weekend. I had been looking around the Clear Lake are for a few weeks for .308 and all I could find was the monarch stuff at the Academy by Nasa Road One. I went to the new Academy on BW 8 just before Fairmont Parkway and they had a whole shelf worth with lots of different varieties. I ended up picking up a box of core-loc's, a box of silver tips and a box of Hornady SST. That was last Wednesday, so they may be out by now.
Thanks,
Rich

this is exactly why I went with a 30-06, the ammo can be found anywhere, even in local hardware stores way out in the sticks........

This Walmart had .308 when I was there on Monday Feb 6th. I have plenty on hand so I did not deplete the inventory!
