In regards to HF stuff, I have a 12v air compressor from them that was 15 bucks or so... I went through a period where I had to air my tire up every morning to get going for the day and in the dark with no coffee I left it plugged in and ran the thing over. Crushed the case and broke the ON/OFF to permanently ON. To my surprise it works to this day! (Can't say the same for other things I got there.)
I understand, I visit the one in Bryan every now and then..Bought a framing gun there and nails, it has worked very good for a year now. I keep it oiled up very good.
I have a few items from HF that have been just fine, I find that it seems to be the electrical or electronic item that do not seem to last???? ( Not every one through?)
Its like a card game, but the prices are good enough that if it breaks and you cant exchange it, that its not that big of a loss.

I started off with this kit from Cabela's:

It's $68, but comes with media and polish. If you get around to it, I recommend getting a rotary media separator like this:

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas- ... 731858.uts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The pan that comes with the Cabela's kit works fine, it just takes a lot of work (and noise) to get all the media out of the cases.

I used that for a good 2 years and probably a good 5000 cases with no issues. I've since moved on to the stainless tumbler kit mentioned in another thread:

I loaned out my old tumbler to a buddy just starting into reloading, and he's happy with it.
