Trying to find a rifle

Post by Rugerboy50 »

I'm trying to find a Savage left handed bolt action rifle (sku 18609).

None in stock to be found.

Any idea's on how Savage works so far as production goes?

My next option is a Stag 6L varminter.

Really want to hold out for the Savage but don't want to wait for ever.

Any ideas or opinions are appreciated.

I see you bought a Stag 6L upper, just wanted to say that I have a Stag 8L Plus (entire rifle) and it's been great. Are you getting a left handed receiver too? I didn't know if an "L" upper would fit on a regular receiver but then again, I'm new to all this "AR" stuff. :???:

I'm new as well to this.

Initial intent was to find a bolt action rifle.

Have been told the safety can be reversed on lowers to make it left handed.

I've got a 15-22 rifle and i'm use to the right handed controls.

My big thing on this is i didn't want .223 brass ejecting across my face.

Doesn't really bother me on the .22 but .223 is much bigger brass.

Haven't purchased anything yet. Taking a hard look at a Rock River complete lower with their 2 stage match trigger and a magpul butt stock.

Really struggling with a decision on optics. right now i'm looking at a 4.5/12x50mm nikon scope.

Wound up with a Rock River 2 stage trigger receiver. Can get the safety reversed don't know about the mag release yet.

Upgraded the butt stock and pistol grip with magpul parts.

Added a nikon .223 scope.

Haven't been to the range yet.

I shoot a right handed AR10 left handed, and the ejected brass never even comes close to my face. It's really not a problem at all.

I shoot a right handed shotgun for skeet and i never see the shells.

Found this lefty upper and went for it.

Based on 6 quick shots at 25 yds trying to zero the scope I can tell it's going to be a tack driver.
