Zombie Max Strikes Again

Post by TheMilkMan »

Howdy everyone,

I was at work yesterday talking to a compatriot who is also into firearms, and who also carries concealed. Our conversation turned to carry ammo, and I was espousing my good fortune with Federal HSTs. Then the unimaginable happened. He said "Well.. Ive had pretty good results at the range with my 'Zombies' so that's what I am using now". All at once several things tried to leave my mouth, clogging together on the way out. Fortunately, what came out was "Zombie Max huh? That's cool."

Let it be confirmed, at least one person carries Hornady Zombie Max for self defense.

Why not? It's just a regular defense round with a humorous name. The name is actually the only problem with it.....from a legal defense perspective.

Its not a big deal, I just find it amusing. Personally, the idea of carrying ammo with a joke name is unattractive, but to each his own. It would be like wearing GI Joe underwear. No one would see it (for the most part), but still. At least with underwear you have not charged it will the serious task of potentially defending your life (for the most part). To top it off, they were .380acp little green bullets, which was amusing to me.

Yeah, your missing the really cool name...

I never really payed attention to the zombie craze until the zombie max ammo, now I absolutely detest the zombie thing now.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Marketing is everything and it sounds like its successful. Whether or not you buy it is up to you, but you are talking about at least.

Clever... :tiphat:

You think that now, but just wait 'til they start showing up, then you will wish you had a case of the stuff. :eek6

Its become kind of a defense mechanism for some people.

They have non gun friends, and when they see they have guns or hear about their collection and ask "Why do you have that stuff"

Its easier to shrug and say "For when the zombies come" ie any bad situation that comes up....

Instead of going into a long spiel about our rights and responsibilities as free men and citizens.

That is true on my part.

I'm ready for when they show up.

My Hornady's have green dots instead of red... call me crazy, I don't care. They were on sale and my guns eat Hornady's.

Zombies:
Its an metaphor for when the dirty stuff gets aerated through the ventilation system. Those that believe we should be able to defend ourselves against all enemies foreign and domestic, find zombies easier to explain than the Red Hoards, or a future Jehad onslaught.

People think we might be a little crazy if we mention defending against our government. For some reason, many people preparing for an eventual zombie take-over seems more acceptable than preparing for an anti-constitutionalist take-over.
