Did you notice that was Otis the drunk from the Andy Griffith show who was the bad guy in the window. That toy would be so politically incorrect today the antis would be marching in the streets.

I was just a little too old for them when they came out, but I wanted one soooo bad. Never did get one.

Oh, my goodness! Does that bring back memories!

I either had the 'tommy gun' or I had something very similar.

And, going back to the mind set of shows such as:

77 Sunset Strip,
Hawaiian Eye,

as well as movies of the times beginning with, and including many, many, more, "Angels with Dirty Faces", "The Big Heat", "The Asphalt Jungle" and "The Big Sleep", this view was very much acceptable at that time.

You're never too old for cool stuff........although I do remember that one of the realistic toy guns from that era didn't work out so well for me with a girlfriend when a buddy and I scared her half to death with one.

I had the Mattel Winchester and Colt pistol with the plastic bullets. That was 1962 when times were simpler. You know, when you threw dirt on a skinned knee to stop the bleeding.
