"They" (meaning, "UK") have banned box cutters. It's already a serious crime to carry a box cutter for anyone who is not a stockboy who uses such a tool in his job, while directly en route from home to job.

Ban samurai swords and they'll use Kendo sticks, ban that and they'll use garden hoses. The british government is trying to change human nature. Pencils in schools will be next.

I understand that Great Britain is putting severe restrictions on all kinds of blades. You cannot carry a knife with blade longer than 2" and it had better not be a lock blade of any type. They are even comtemplating registration of kitchen knives. I don't know how they will ever pull that off, but it will likely create a whole new bureacracy just to analyze the concept. The nanny state continues.
