Took the new toy to the range yesterday. I was hoping Bexar Community would let me shoot it on the pistol range[1] but they "preferred" that I use the 25yd rifle range so I did. First lesson learned: Don't forget the Upula loader. I only have the one 10-round Glock mag that came with it. Second lesson learned: Don't forget the sight adjustment tool that came with it. Oh well.
I've seen a buffer cushion for sell for this that's supposed to ease the kick, especially in .40 cal but my response is "what kick?"[2]. I zipped through the first mag and it didn't bother me at all.
In all I fired 6 mags. The one thing I haven't gotten used to yet is that the bolt doesn't lock open on an empty mag. Just hear the click on an empty chamber. At 25yds, iron (plastic?) sights, and me, all rounds from each mag (even standing) were within a 12" circle. Out of the box it shot way low and left so I'm going to have to go back and work on the sight adjustment.
I had two failures to load on the first mag. First FTL was the third or fourth round and the round just did not chamber and got compressed. Second was a couple rounds later and stove piped. But after those everything worked like clockwork.
I like this thing. Simple, basic, easy. Kinda reminds me of the old M3 grease gun. Wasn't the best weapon in the world but it was dependable and did what it was supposed to do.
[1]Bexar Community is like shooting in your back yard. A row of tables, a dozen stands that hold silhouette targets that you can place anywhere, berm is about 25yds, and you're expected to act like an adult as there are no RSOs.
[2]Major downside for this cushion is that with it in place you cannot pull the bolt back far enough to lock it open.

Re: SUB2000 at the range
I never bothered with the bolt buffer on mine. I did get the Kel-Tec stock extension, as well as the buffer tube sleeve from Tacticool. Both items made it much more comfortable to shoot. I also added a Hogue Handall and I dremel'd off about half of the mag release button. Being left handed, I had a bad tendencty to hit the mag release and drop the mag out while firing. 5 minutes with a Dremel cured that.
Get the sights dialed in and you shouldn't have any problems. At 50 yards I can easily keep everything inside a 6" circle with mine. (9mm)

How did you find one of these?
Every site I visit is out of stock. Cannot locate one anywhere.

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

Re: SUB2000 at the range
I bought mine about a year ago at Carroll's in Wharton. They alost always have 1 or 2 in stock.
Re: SUB2000 at the range
I've been running mine at carbine matches. It sure is nice to only go though 100 rounds of 9mm instead of 223.
Since it uses Glock mags I can run my 31 rounders and not have a capacity disadvantage compared to the AR guys.
Disadvantages:
Mushy plastic trigger.
Busy sight picture, small rear aperture, big front sight and guard.
Blowback operation so as a lefty I get gases and soot on my cheek with every shot. Hurray for having a beard.
Since the reciprocating bolt and carrier are about half the weight of the gun, it moves around a bit on every shot.
Advantages:
Cheap.
It folds to 16". I can put it INSIDE my normal pistol range bag, put the bag on the motorcycle and head for the match.
Once I get a secure strap setup. I can strap a 31 round mag to the bottom of the forearm, put a 17 round G-17 mag in the gun, fold it up and have a 16 x 6 inch, 48 round travel package. I can't do that with my ARs.

So today I didn't feel like hanging around the office for lunch and I really wasn't hungry so I decided to run up to Nagel's and just look around, see if they had anything thing interesting. (HA! Make that anything I could afford.)
So I'm nosing around the EBR area and someone asked if they could help and I just mention that I was wondering if they had a SUB-2000 in .40.
Well whadda you know. Hiding behind a couple EBRs is one (and only one).
For $429.
Except it was on sale for $359.
Oops. Correction. They had one. Now I do.
