UTS-15 vs KSG

Post by Dave2 »

Huh... Didn't see this one coming:
Image
So... UTS-15 vs KSG
They're both dual-tube bullpup pump-action shotguns
They both weigh 6.9lbs
Total Length: 28.5" vs 26.1"
Magazine Capacity: 15 vs 14
Cost: $1500 (expected MSRP) vs $800 (at Impact Guns)

I think I'd still rather have a Saiga 12, though.

Edit: Weird, the image stopped working... I replaced it with a different one.

If the sticker is $1500 I will order or grab a tromix, Mag fed is better. I heard that shotshell can deform in loaded mag and this could be an negative issue.

If a closed bolt is pushing down on a large magazine stack, yes. Shotshells aren't metallic, so the plastic can deform over time, especially if the shotgun/mag are in a warm area. Don't store the Saiga with a full magazine and closed bolt for any extended period.

Don't also neglect the MKA 1919 (a mag-fed, Turkish shotgun that weighs a little over 7lbs).

The important thing to remember is that the UTS-15, Saiga-12, and MKA 1919 can be found through firearms dealers, while the Kel-Tec KSG can only be found nestled between the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

I need a bullup version of the Tromix! I know of this: http://www.kushnapup.com/#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; never became a real product.

Funny you should mention this. I _just_ got an email from the Kushnapup guys confirming the new stocks are completed (including photos of boxes of the Kushnapups -- although one COULD say they're just photos of empty boxes). Apparently, my stock is about to actually be shipped!

I say boycott Kel-Tec, I get sick of their inability to produce firearms after creating a demand for them. They create some fairly innovative firearm designs and get the firearms community excited to the point where everybody wants one of their firearms. People then expect Kel-Tec to actually manufacture these firearms and then Kel-Tec manufactures just enough to keep the prices at triple what they should be all the while proclaiming they are making at much as they can. Meanwhile the only place you can find any is on Gunbroker, and those you find are so outrageously priced that only the rich can afford to buy them. Whether it is the PMR30, KSG or Sub2K they never make enough to meet demand and I am beginning to think that is on purpose.

:iagree: I have never been a fan of their finished products, but their innovations are impressive. Their manufacturing capabilities are embarrassing.

You can't boycott something you can't buy anyway

All kidding aside, I think we all understand that Kel-Tec is vastly incapable of functioning as a real manufacturer. What they SHOULD do is operate like design facility, then contract out the production to a large scale plant.

I'm really beginning to wonder if Kel-Tec is owned by Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, and the frustration they're causing us is part of their evil plan.

....Nah, they aren't that smart.

Yeah, that'd be like saying you were boycotting personal aircraft carriers or something.
