Police Stop Alleged Rapist Before Another Attack
(CBS 11 News) GRANBURY, Texas A man accused of sexually assaulting a female real estate agent in the St. Louis area has been arrested in North Texas.
Saturday, a local Keller Williams' real estate agency unknowingly sent another agent to view a home for sale in Granbury with Jerry Wilson. He was wanted for robbing and sexually assaulting a realtor in St. Charles, Missouri earlier this month.
"We got a call from the sheriff's office, and they said, 'We have a situation at your office,'" said Pam Knieper, who runs the agency.
Knieper sent her husband Kenny Knieper to follow the employee and the convicted felon until police could get there.
"When they went to the third house, they were in there for a long time," said Kenny. "I called the sheriff, and I said, 'They've been in this house quite a while. It's got a basement in it, and if he's gonna do something, that may be the house to do it in.'"
When officers caught up with him, they pulled him from the car and detained him face down at gunpoint.
Granbury police searched Wilson's car. "They found guns, they found knives, they found rope, duck tape, sex toys... you name it, and it was in there," said Hood County Sheriff J. E. Gene Mayo.
Police say they also found stacks of women's real estate cards in his car. Anyone of them could have been potential targets.
Missouri authorities say Wilson used a similar set-up with a 24-year-old realtor who was showing him a home.
They say he bound her hands and feet around a pole in the basement, and then robbed and sexually assaulted her.
"He told me not to scream, because if I did, he would kill me," said the victim. "I told him, 'I just want you to leave; take what you want and just leave. I just want to go home.'"
Granbury's sheriff says there's no doubt in his mind Wilson was planning a repeat attack.
Police were able to track down Wilson through his use of a credit card he stole from the victim in Missouri. An alert Granbury officer spotted Wilson's car on Saturday at the real estate office.
After his arrest, Wilson told police he wasn't going back to prison.
"His plan was to do suicide by cop," said Sheriff Mayo. "Luckily for everybody, he didn't have the gun with him. He had forgotten it in his car, because he rode with the real estate agent. His plan was to actually force a law enforcement officer to take his life."
The sheriff credits good old fashioned police work and help from a concerned citizen for the capture.
"The Granbury Police Department, the sheriff's office and everybody involved did what I thought was a great job following him and intercepting him before anything could happen," Kenny said. "I'm glad I could help."
Police are looking at Wilson for other attacks on real estate agents. He will likely be extradited to Missouri next week.

Congrads on getting that scum of the earth off the street before he could do any more damage. Sounds like you got him just in time. We can only hope he never makes it back out.

It was actually Marc, not I, who took the creep down. The BG's major error in Granbury was using that stolen credit card one time too many - at Wally World ...
