Documentation Submitting

Post by FrankenFord54 »

I just finished my renewal class and am getting all of my paperwork together to send off when I see this on my checklist:

"You may also submit your documentation online at:
https://txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; "

Has anyone here tried this? Is it true that we can submit our 100 & Checklist online?

Thanks
Jeff

Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

You can do your renewal application online, but must mail your CHL-100

https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Why thank you Sir. :tiphat:
I look forward to jumping in.
Well, so much for hoping that the state has advanced that much, but even doing the app online is a HUGE jump for the State!

Hey Keith,
I had to call the state on a different matter this afternoon and received some cool info.
If you are a renewal, and renewal only, we CAN submit our checklist and CHL-100 online via the address:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I emailed DPS about this:
To: CHLinstructors
Subject: Online submission of documents

I have had several students indicate that their checklists state:

"You may also submit your documentation online at:
https://txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; "

Is it true that students can upload their supporting documents? If so, is it possible to get an update sent to instructors so they can answer this question knowledgeably?

Richard
and got this response today:
I’m not aware of this update. It will be best to mail all documents until more clarification has been made.

This may be a case in which the information has not been disseminated throughout DPS, so I am advising my students to stick to mail until I see something more certain.

Interesting. I spoke with Renee at DPS Regulatory Services earlier. I can understand what Deadra is talking about though.
I went ahead and scanned my documents and e-mailed them over folowing the link mentioned above.
I will keep a tight eye on it and update as I find out more

I just asked this same question in another thread (missed this one on my first search.)

So has everything gone ok so far? I'm taking my 2nd renewal tomorrow and was going to ask the instructor about it. Scanning and submitting it online would definitely be much easier.

Mods......
We seem to have several threads on this same topic. Could they be merged into one for future updates and reference?

I sent in a question last week to DPS on uploading documents, their reply was ; " all documents received and updated, no further documentation needed at this time."

So, I guess it's official

Hello people,
I used the on-line application process for renewal, but I failed to catch the e-mail that you submit your checklist to.
I e-mailed (through the contact link on the website) but still no response. (approx. 2 weeks ago)
Calling seems to be pretty hard to get through.
Would anybody know the actual e-mail addres to send this to?
Thanks for your help.

It will take some time to get paperwork processing. Just keep an eye on the status page for your applicaiton and watch for changes there. If there is anything missing from your applicaiton they will quickly contact you and you can resolve it with them.
