Glock triggers?

I am considering a new trigger for my Glock 17 but it must play several roles.

1st. This is my 98% carry gun so the trigger must be practical and reliable.

2nd Does a new trigger make that much difference? I have heard and read so many mixed reviews. I practice (about 2000 rounds per month) and have concluded that the trigger slack on the first shot can be overcome by simple "staging", it's the follow up shots that I am trying to improve. My reset time average is about .22 tenths of a second but have seen .15 tenths capable from other glocks, this may sound trivial but I feel that it is worth the effort.

I have found a Travis Haley "Skimmer" trigger and a Vogel trigger system at the glockstore.com but they are not cheap, does anyone have real experience with a non stock trigger and actual shot times?

Different guns or different shooters? Either way, close to 2 hundredths is very good shooting.

I'm shot with the Skimmer and its pretty good less slack and a short reset.

I prefer the fulcrum trigger tho.

I polished and installed the factory 3.5lb connector.

Didn't make a significant difference to me.

In a gunfight, I bet I'd never notice or remember the trigger feel.

Are you shooting from the reset position or allowing the trigger to travel all the way back forward? Is the .22 seconds the split times between your shots? If so, it is not shabby to have just shy of five controlled rounds per second coming out of your gun.

Respectfully, I have tried a bunch of Glock triggers and none of them gave any measurable improvement when factoring reliability. There is a video of me shooting the State IDPA match in 2007 with a perfectly good Glock 17 going full auto on me because of a trigger improvement.

Definitely resetting the trigger, in fact I have had a few shots (very few) in the .13 of one second area but of course I can not repeat that time on demand but I realize it is possible...I believe the 1911 pistol design is so popular because of its trigger so I reason the faster I can reset my Glock the better my time as well as accuracy.

If this is a carry gun I would not do anything beyond a good lube and a "-" connector. It's a G17 that you carry concealed for self defense, not a competition race gun that goes back in the bag after a match.

What is that 7 hundredths of a second going to do for you? That 100 plus dollar 7/100th of a second? Is it going to be the difference between living of dying? Between protecting your loved ones or loosing them? Or is it just a number on the timer?

If it's a game gun then go for it. Slap a Vanek on it and go to town. On a carry gun? Keep it stock as regards to trigger and safety components.

3.5 Connector with the NY-1 trigger spring.

Smooth trigger pull with out being too light for a defense gun. Feels a lot like a double action revolver trigger, which I like.
