Too Good of a deal to turn down, now the learning begins
I ran into an aquaintenance at Greybeard's place on Sunday and he mentioned that he was going to sell all of his reloading gear. Well a few days later and it became mine. Then the fun part began, time to build a bench for it, not too big and not too small, wanted a size to fit into a spare bedroom and hold everything I would need as well as everything that was included. Converted the Dillon 550B VHS to DVD and have now watched it twice, almost time to start toying around and learning step by step. I plan on starting with 308, just happened to get about 500 pieces of new brass and 1100 bullets and a few thousand primers with it along with a lot of 40 cal and 380. If anybody needs and 40 cal brass and bullets (new) I would be interested in a trade for either 308 or 30-06 brass. I hope I do not become a pest asking questions, the one thing I have learned so far is that there is a lot to know about reloading and a lot of testing to do in order to come up with the perfect powder and bullet for a specific rifle to get the most out of it. Now the real fun begins............

Nice looking setup.
Don't be shy about asking questions that's how we learn.
Have fun!

I'm jealous!
There will always be prayer in schools as long as there are tests.

Looks like you have a fine machine there and a lot of needed items too.
One tip...Build your bench as big as you can to fit the area your going to put it.
You can never have enough bench space. Sit back and think about lay outs first. look at several of the reloading forums for something like this post " Show us your reloading room".....every reloading forum has one like it and you can get a lot of very good ideas. Everyones needs are a little different depending on the room they have. Some are in basements, some in garages and some are purpose built reloading shops/rooms.
Look at some of the Reloading manuals like Lymans too..they seem to always have bench ideas. Plus there is a NRA reloading bench plans on the inet. Let me see if I can find it and post it for you.

Here is a good start.
There are more...just do a google search for "NRA reloading bench plans"
Well...get going, whatcha waiting for ?

This forum is for asking questions - ask away..
Are you planning on reloading pistol cartridges also? I'd recommend starting with pistol first, then rifle. In some ways pistol loading is simpler (no lubing with carbide dies, no bottleneck cases). 38spl/357 or 45acp are good to start with.
Make sure you have at least 2 loading manuals.

I searched "Dillon 550b" and found helpful setup videos on youtube.
Re: Too Good of a deal to turn down, now the learning begins
I found that the setup and calibrations are not as difficult as I had initilly thought. Taking each piece as a seperate componant and not being in a hurry is the way to go and it all comes together and makes sense. The one thing I find myself doing is checking the powder measure about 10 times before I start cranking out ammunition, just to make sure that the measure is consistant. I maybe overly cautious at this point.
Have been loading up 308 so far, about 300 rounds to feed my new FNAR. Also just ordered 30-06 and 9mm dies from Dillon so that will be next. The primer warning system did not work and I mentioned that I needed to buy a replacement to Dillon when speaking with them. They are sending me a new one at no cost, I told them and stresed the fact that I bought it used and the rep insisted that it is still covered under their "no bull" warranty and added them to my order at no cost. What a great company to do business with, I know I can use other manufacturers dies although with their service and customer friendly additude I will spend my money with them....
