Almost 2 years ago, I picked up a SOG Armory stripped lower at a gun show so that I could build my AR. Well, I've finally gotten almost everything ordered and have started to put it together as the parts arrive. Here's the laundry list:
SOG Armory Lower
PSA lower parts kit
PSA 16", midlength, CHF, light profile FN barrel upper. Chrome-lined, 1/7 twist.
PSA buffer extension kit
MagPul MOE+ grip
MagPul ASAP sling adapter
MagPul MOE midlength forend
LMT SOPMOD stock (for now)
lots of USGI mags (tan follower)
detachable carry handle (for now)
The last things I really need to order are a BCG and charging handle. I'll probably get the BCG from BCM since they have them in stock, unless anyone has a better recommendation. After that, I'll look at a BUIS and optics. I'll probably start off with a MagPul MBUS and a Trijicon Reflex 2 that a buddy has, and then look at getting one of the EoTech XPS models. Somewhere in there I'll pick up one of the MagPul MS3 slings. Pics will follow when it is complete. Any thoughts/suggestions/tips?

Re: Finally building my first AR
Is the psa a complete upper or just the barrel? If it is a complete upper you should just buy the psa bcg since it will more than likely be head-spaced. If you get the bcm gunfighter I suggest the medium mod. Other than that all of it will work.

The PSA upper is complete. I wouldn't mind buying a PSA BCG, but they aren't in stock, so I'll probably go with BCM. From everything I have read, headspace is not an issue between a new bolt and a new upper, so I'll just double-check it before I fire.

Finally complete! The upper came in last night. I used an LMT SOPMOD stock which I painted to (sort of) match the Magpul furniture. It'll do unil I decide to go with something else or paint the entire rifle. I still need a foregrip (have an AFG2 on backorder), an optic and a BUIS (I want an Eotech XPS2, but will probably start with a PA microdot), a sling, and a weapon light. Nothing there will stop me from taking it to the range as soon as I have a free minute, though!
