Went to Ammunition To Go today.

Post by C-dub »

OMG, that place is unbelievable!!!

Not only are they stocked to the gills with ammo, but right next door on the same property is Independence Firearms. I've seen their billboard the last couple of times I've been down to Brenham, but didn't go over to see them. I didn't even know about ATG either until seeing a reference to them on this forum a couple weeks or so ago. The ATG place isn't an actual store. It's just their warehouse. They showed me to a computer terminal and said what ever I could find on their website that said "in stock" they would just bring up front for me. AWESOME!!!

After leaving there I decided to check out the gun shop. It was like mini gun show. Each time I thought I was done with the room I was in I saw another room. I think there were four rooms all together. They had the Benelli shotgun I thought about getting. AndyC, it was the one the guy you recommended I speak to about shotguns said he could fix up for me. Basically, it's an M2 field gun with a 21" barrel that's had some extra work done on it. REAL smooth. Then, I thought, the sales guy mentioned some guy down in Corpus Christi was doing the work for Benelli and my jaw about dropped. Now I just have to save up my pennies and maybe the next time I go down there, if they still have it, I can get it without having to send one off or have it mailed to me through an FFL. It's this gun ...

It's right up the road from the Antique Rose Emporium. They do have an impressive stock of ammo. Pretty good selection of mags and holsters. I bought a pair of Pachmyer grips for my L frame S&W that I had not found anywhere else.

Yeah, their selection of guns wasn't impressive, but they did have some oddball stuff. There was also a RRA, I think, AR that was camoed out with a snake skin pattern. I picked it up and tried to read the etching to see the manufacturer, but the camo pattern did funny things to my eyes when I tried to read it. Also, I didn't have my "old man eyes"/reading glassed with me. :grumble Finally broke down and got a pair at Tom Thumb this past week. Anyway, I think it was RRA and pretty cool looking.

They definitely have WAY more parts than complete guns.

Online orders are 10% off today with coupon code FREEDOM.

No pick-up option though, so I can't combine an ammo run with a Blue Bell tour. ;-)

I love the smell of Blue Bell in the morning.

Great places. I ride the bike down sometimes just to cruise and look.

Now that I have my Road King, I think I'm going to find a LOT more excuses for taking fun little trips like that from Pflugerville

My goodness that's far to go to buy ammo, although I've bought online from them before. Their bulk price for M855 ball is better than CTD's, although I note that they seem to be out of it at the moment.

I go to Brenham several times a year. This time I made a conscious effort to stop buy. It was a fruitful adventure. I picked up some .223 for my new Colt and to repay a friend who let me shoot many rounds of his .223.

BTW, how many rounds do you think I shot that day Marshal?

I had that very same daydream this afternoon. I was thinking that I could let everyone know the next time I'm going down and if anyone would like me to pick something up for them I could do that and if it was a big enough order that I would drive my truck and have them load it up.

I stopped by a couple of times in the old days, when he was operating out of his folks' tree farm. He used to be closed on weekends when he did shows.

My brother lives only a few miles down 390 E, but weekends and holidays are when I'm up there.

What schedule does ATG keep now?

Some of us ride "baggers." They hold ammo cans nicely
