Yeah, I can see why you're a Springfield fan.

I love mine. Took it from the shop to Teddy Jacobsen and let him do his magic. Everyone that shoots is says "wow".....

Tam, like you shared, my wife shot it (mine's a .40) and she commented how "soft" it shot....

Congrats on the purchase, you'll really like having this gun.

Funny thing about the thread...any Springfield thread is always polluted with Fanboy photos....LOL....

What did Teddy Jacobsen do to it?

Isn't the XD line kinda like the .40S&W round? Better performance than the 9mm and closer to the .45ACP, but you can carry almost as many as the 9mm in the gun? The XD looks a little like a Glock, but has some features like a 1911. People start off with the .40, but then after shooting it for a while and finding out that there's a double stack .45 with almost the same number of rounds and end up switching.

The only real question is which is the 9mm and which is the .45ACP. The 1911 or the Glock? :biggrinjester:

Glad you like yours. The XD and XDms don't fit my hand well and don't point as naturally for me as Glocks do. When I was looking for an EDC, I was originally thinking an M&P or XD but I shot the Glock 19 and 26 the best.

I really like my XDm9 :fire
It has never malfunctioned and shoots better than I do ;-) When watching new CHL applicants take their quals, I have noticed a good number have the XD's or XDm's. They do not seem to malfunction even when limpwristed, even when the owner rides the slide when racking a round, even with the take down lever in the "up" position the whole time  Yeah, that last example was a :headscratch. I did not know that could be done.

I have had it out 3 more times and im with you. its a nice firearm to be sure but im not ready to ditch my ole trusty glock 23 for it yet. It can ride the night stand for a while. I like it....but i dont love it. Might swap the back straps around and see if one of the others makes a difference.

The Glock is OK. My wife likes her's; but I have difficulty with two things: one being the size of the grip; the other being the grip angle. I understand that the Gen 4 guns offer alternatives in grip size, but that still leaves grip angle. With the angle of my wrist/arm/shoulder, when the gun comes up and I try to get a sight picture, the more acute angle makes make the gun naturally point higher than I want it, and I have to compensate by bending my wrist slightly downward to bring the front sight into vertical alignment with the rear sight. With 1911s, M&Ps, and XD/XDMs, which all share roughly the same grip angle, the font and rear sights line up very naturally for me.

I'm too old to adapt myself to an whole new system, and I'm happy with what I've got.

I understand about the grip thing....My glock 23 does not have the finger grooves, and I love it. The baby Glock and the full size both have finger grooves and im not crazy about them. I have big hands and the finger grooves just dont fit well. The XDm feels great, I just dont shoot it as well yet as the old 23.
