Statistics For Robbery And 30.06

Does anyone know of any statistics or web sights for robberies in places of business that have 30.06 signs posted?

I wouldn't be sure that would even be noted in any robbery investigation...

They should, but that would only make "our" point valid...Wouldn't it???

I don't have any input as to any research into statistics of this, but what are you trying to connect?

I believe he is looking for:

"Are businesses and facilities that post 30.06 restrictions, statistically more likely to be afforded more opportunities to be robbed than businesses and facilities that do not post the restrictive signage..."

I am not so sure myself...Given that the average criminal does not give thought to this issue, that we pay so much attention to...

In other words, do 30.06 signs create gun free crime zones?

A cop friend tells me that some criminnals do pay attention to them, but he had no statistics, only anecdotal tales from arrestees.

Yep! LEO used to fill out forms on all Armed Robberies. There was things like, security cameras in use, 24 hour store, security service, etc. . . The same was true with accidents, did alcohol play a part, rain, construction zone, etc. . .

That's what I was getting at. Your average criminal isn't going to case a liquor store to find one with a 30.06 sign because one without MAY have a patron with a concealed handgun.

Think about this....just because there is a 30.06 sign in the window doesn't mean the guy behind the counter doesn't have a gun. A 30.06 sign isn't a magnetic barrier....

You're not going to find any data on this that will let you reach a valid conclusion. There are so few 30.06 signs that you'd have a hard time comparing post versus non posted. You'd have to compare the same types of businesses within the same zip code for a valid comparison.
